Amazing Event coming to Maui & Initiative Update
Aloha Petitioners,
We wish you all a happy New Year!
It is important for us to know how many signatures have been collected so far. Please text Satya 808-268-2898 ASAP how many you have (even if you don’t have any!) and please do so by Sunday, Jan 4th because we need a total count before our tour. If you have checked them for validity already, also tell us how many of them are valid.
We are excited to announce that we have been able to create a 4-island 5-event tour “Keep Vaccinations Optional” from Jan 5-10 with a stellar line-up of presenters:
Dr Robert Malone, inventor of the mRNA technology
Mikki Willis, film maker and producer of The Plandemic Series
Dr Ryan Cole, co-founder of the Frontline Doctors
Jimmy Dore, comedian and political commentator (Oahu and Maui only)
Maka Gallinger, a wonderful Hawaiian musician and health freedom advocate will join the tour and contribute her music.
Our Maui event is on January 10 at 6pm at the Iao Theater. $20 donation (to offset expenses). Attached is the Maui flyer and the 4-island flyer with all the dates.
How you can help right now:
-
Please spread the word about the events ASAP. Personal invitations work best! Especiallyreach out to include people who are new and ready to learn more about the issues at hand.
-
If you have friends on other islands and want to forward them the poster for a specific event, text Satya and she will send it to you.
-
Putting up flyers and handing out small flyers about the event.
-
Anyone who wants to help with fundraising for a survey to see how voters feel about the governor’s plans to remove religious exemptions from childhood vaccinations. This is one of our strategies to see how to best move forward.
-
We need a set up and break down crew on Jan 10. Please contact Satya 808-268-2898 if you can help.
-
Looking for flowers, leis and help with stage decorations on the 10th.
Important Initiative Updates
Bruce has been working tirelessly on the tour and finding other movers and shakers on Big Island, Kauai and Oahu and has been spending a lot of time organizing the tour and considering strategies with them.
The other islands decided to focus on the state level by sending letters to legislators rather than creating a County Ballot Initiative, as we did on Maui.
Leadership on the other islands had 4 main considerations before doing an Initiative:
-
They want to do a polling first before starting an Initiative to be sure the majority of voters want optional vaccinations.
-
They want to be sure there are enough potential petitioners by asking the people who will attend the upcoming events how many are ready to become petitioners if the Initiative is launched. We will find out at each event if there are 100 people pledging to collect 100 signatures or 200 pledging to collect 50 signatures.
-
They want to wait until January 21st, when Hawaii legislative session starts, to see if the Governor puts the Religious Exemption Repeal on the docket for 2026.
-
They are concerned that if the Repeal will be voted on during this 2026 legislative session, it could be passed by the end of the session in early May. This would be way before our November Initiative ballot vote. That is why they feel it is more important right now to focus our attention on convincing our state legislator not to approve the Repeal.
Therefore, we are considering it wise to take a pause with our Maui Initiative and signature collecting until we:
-
have taken the pulse of the support available for that approach on Maui at this event
-
have done a polling of Maui voters and
-
get the support of the other 3 island for the Initiative approach.
The signatures gathered so far will be a powerful tool to show our state legislators that we, the people, are serious about retaining our Religious and Philosophical Exemptions. We will use the Maui Initiative to demonstrate what will happen if they dare to pass such a measure. Maui has demonstrated to the rest of Hawaii that the people will use whatever means possible to bring the vaccination issue in front of every voter. If the legislators dare to pass a Repeal, the Initiative will be our means of last resort to bring this issue to the attention of all the voters of the state of Hawaii.
Congratulations, Maui, for being willing to put in the effort!
Thank you all for your caring hearts!
Looking forward to the 10th at Iao Theater with our experts. Let’s learn together, get inspired and unite our community.
Mahalo,
Bruce & Satya Douglas
